The Sea Lock at the confluence of the River Torridge and Rolle Canal. This piece of industrial history is in the process of renovation. The lock allowed vessels into the canal to transfer limestone from South Wales to canal barges. The barges were then towed and lifted up the Rolle Canal to high land above Torrington. The lock is on private land and I was grateful to have received permission to spend a day there drawing and painting.
